NoDiary — Privacy Policy

                Our commitment: NoDiary is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers. Your diary is yours alone.
            

Data Collection

What we collect

Nothing. NoDiary does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on our servers. We have no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no user accounts on our side.

What stays on your device

All diary entries, mood selections, and photo attachments are stored locally on your device.
Local data is saved as a JSON cache file and photo files within the app's sandboxed storage.
If you are signed into iCloud, your entries sync to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit private database. We have no access to your iCloud data.

Data Storage

Local storage: Diary text and mood data are stored in a local JSON file. Photos are stored as compressed JPEG files in the app's cache directory.
iCloud sync: When enabled, entries sync via Apple's CloudKit private database. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Only you can access it through your Apple ID.
Widget data: If you use the home screen widget, a minimal subset of today's entry (text preview, mood, streak count, and a small thumbnail) is shared between the app and widget via App Group — this data never leaves your device.
We do not have access to any data stored on your device or in your iCloud account.

Permissions

Photo Library (read-only): Used only when you choose to attach photos to a diary entry. We use Apple's PhotosPicker, which grants access only to the specific photos you select — not your entire photo library.
Notifications: Used only for the optional daily writing reminder. These are local notifications scheduled on your device. No data is sent to any external push notification service.

Third-Party Services

                NoDiary uses zero third-party SDKs or services. The only external service involved is Apple's CloudKit for iCloud sync, which is part of the iOS platform.
            

Apple CloudKit: Used for iCloud sync. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.

We do not use any analytics services, crash reporting tools, advertising networks, or other third-party SDKs.

Data Sharing

                We do not share your data with any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. Period.
            

Data Export & Deletion

You can export all your diary entries at any time via the app's export feature in plain text (.txt) or PDF format.
You can delete individual entries within the app.
You can delete all data by deleting the app from your device.
If you use iCloud sync, you can manage or delete iCloud data in your device Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Children's Privacy

NoDiary is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
